Coffer collects the following information when you use the app:
• Email address and display name (used for your account)
• Avatar photo (optional, uploaded by you)
• Coin and currency details you enter: denomination, year, mint mark, grade, condition, purchase price, market value, and notes
• Photos of coins, banknotes, and slabs you upload
• Portfolio snapshots used to track collection value over time
All data is stored securely using Supabase, which handles authentication, database records, and file storage. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage and are not publicly accessible — they are only visible to your authenticated account.
When you use the AI identification feature, images are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Please do not submit images that contain personal information (such as photos of people or documents). Images sent to Anthropic are subject to Anthropic's own privacy practices.
Coffer uses two sources to estimate and update the market value of items in your collection:
eBay Browse API: When you open the app, Coffer automatically queries eBay's Browse API in the background using coin attributes (denomination, year, mint mark, grade, grading service) to fetch recent sold listing prices. These prices are used to update the estimated market value shown for coins you own. You can also trigger this manually via the "Refresh Prices" button. eBay queries do not include your personal account information. Coffer also displays recent eBay listings within the app to help you research market prices.
Numista: Coffer queries the Numista community database for coin type and pricing information when you add a coin. Queries include coin attributes but not your personal account information.
The News tab fetches RSS feeds from third-party sources including CoinWeek, NGC, PCGS, and Yahoo Finance. No personal data is sent to these sources.
Coffer uses Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Crash data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising.
Coffer does not sell your personal data to third parties. Your data is used solely to provide the app's functionality.
You can permanently delete your account from the Settings screen. Deletion removes your account, all items, photos, folders, and portfolio history from our systems. This action is irreversible.
